Founder’s story (written by me, Cass)

Ginger June Candle Co. is a brand that cares deeply about creating products that not only smell good and bring you joy - but are also healthy for your home & your family. If we can encourage you in some way during the process, then we have struck gold!

San Diego, CA 2013

Recently laid off from a visual communications job that I loved at a large department store, I chose to start mixing oil blends, pouring candles, and gluing & painting little animals on mason jar lids. Filling the countertops, kitchen table, and closets of my tiny condo with my creations - I started the Etsy shop “Let’s Put A Bird On It”

Aptos, CA 2014-2020

Continuing to grow and pour creativity into Let’s Put a Bird On It, my fiancé (now husband) and I decided to move up the coast to Aptos, CA. This beautiful little beach town was where things began to grow, we upgraded to a garage and spare bedroom for making and shipping orders! In 2018, I got pregnant with our first child, and I decided to rename the business after my incredible grandmother, Ginger June. I was able to tell her about this (and record the announcement here) before she passed away in 2019. in 2019, Ginger June Candle Co. hired our very first employee (this was huge!)

Hayden, ID 2020 - present

My husband and I packed up our lives, our baby & our three dogs, said goodbye to our friends in Aptos (and our amazing employee), and moved ourselves and the business up to North Idaho. We have been working on growing our family, team, and Ginger June ever since! We moved into our bright and happy 5,000 square foot warehouse in 2022 and have been cranking out new products with a smile ever since!

The Heart Of It All

God, family, and community are what we hold most dear. We are truly so grateful for every single order we recieve and use these profits to give back to local foster and adoption services in Northern Idaho.
